I recommend using a micro ATX board with this case.
Use the routers and velcro ties and take your time. You should know this going in, the compact requires very intentional arrangement of cables to make the most of the available space. Plenty of modular options for adding or removing additional drives, fans, etc.Ĭons: Cable management is going to be tough, but not hard. Provides excellent temperatures in its stock configuration I didn't use the fan hub because my motherboard has so many fan headers.

Moved my old Noctua NF-S12A PWM chromax from exhaust on my old case to a bottom intake on the Torrent Compact. No need for any exhaust fan because there's so much positive pressure from the front. Was very easy to route cables when you plan in advance knowing the limited room in the back panel. Overall Review: I have been waiting for this case since the original Fractal Design Torrent was announced. I had to remove a 2.5-inch mount due to the USB 3.2 front panel cable but that was primarily due to my motherboard using a side angle USB 3.2 connector and how I had to route the stiff cable. You just need to ensure you route the cables as close as possible. Dropped my 8TB Western Digital Red temp from 44✬ to 36✬ because some air does get into the top bay compared to my Define C.Ĭons: Cable space is the only negative although I had no issue closing my side panel without the need of the screw. I have the front 180mm fans set at 50% PWM and very quiet yet dropped my CPU temps 10✬ under load (coming from a Fractal Design Define C).

Overall Review: Great case, and if you need more room get the full size torrent. I removed 2 of the ssd drive holders for more cable space and had to remove the hard drive bay holder up top because of how many cables I had to hide by the psu. The non glass version is best for the cables in back so it doesnt bulge the glass. With fan profiles using precision x1 and armory crate, my temps dropped from my old case, and sit around 70 c for graphics card, and about 54c for 12700k.Ĭons: The cable management is tight, but if you dont have a lot of hard drives that use sata, and dont have a lot of rgb cables etc, then its manageable.
Added 3 Noctua fans, a 120mm on the back, and 2 bring in cool air from below. Highly recommend this case! I have a RTX 3080 ftw3 evga, 12700k, 2 m.2 ssd and one Sata ssd, z690 mobo, Noctua by-15s air cooler. The cable management was a lot trickier than the bigger model, but overall the cooling, airflow and look of this case is soo much better than my old case! I love that the psu is above in its own cubby. I replaced my haf lan box with this case after 10 years of using the other case with rebuilding my pc.
